Businesses in Doha 

Now a days in Doha, small businesses like home businesses are becoming the source of income for a lot of people and some of these businesses are being very creative in their work to an extend where you can not tell that it is simply made by a home business. These small businesses get support by social media influencers’ advertising their business.


The Qatari guy Abdulrahman Alemadi took advantage of all these small businesses to start his own, he opened Market Café where home business owners who sell food can rent a small refrigerator for a month and sell their food or other businesses to rent a shelf to sell their products. I chose to talk about this business because it is a one of a kind no one has ever thought about this before and it is very creative and original, and this is what attracted me to it. Abdulrahman has other businesses such as Draft Coffee Bar and Soft Loop Cafe and he made a smart choice opening a business like Market Cafe that benefit him and other businesses.


How Market Café was advertised 

I knew about this business from one of the very popular influencers Abdullah Alghafri, he was the first to advertise Market Café and tell all the home business owners he has on snapchat to benefit from this. Abdullah as well advertises different types of businesses in Doha and in every Friday he advertises products of home businesses only. Furthermore, since Abdulrahman has other businesses he has a number of people following him on Instagram, so he used his personal account to announce his new business Market café and promote it, and being a business owner makes him familiar with all the marketing strategies. For instance, he got several channels asking him for an interview on the television to talk about his business with the new concept, as well as, paying other social media influencers like Lady Aysha to advertise his business. He also participated in events like Qatar International Food Festival that was in the Sheraton Hotel's park and Najah Qatari. I liked how he thought out side the box and created something new and how he promoted his work in all great ways.

Qatar Economic Development  For the past couples of weeks, my group and I have been working on a report about Qatar economic development. In the report we talked about Qatar vision 2030, Qatar after the blockade, and two important projects that helped in the growth of the economy; and they are Baladna and Lusail City. Sheikha Almayassa's TED Talk About culture.     Globalizing the local, localizing the global was the title of her talk. Sheikha Al mayassa talked about different aspects of the Qatari culture and touched upon important notions.
